2025 Annual Fee Notice

Dear Lake Summerside Community Member,

As a valued member of the Lake Summerside community, your participation in the Summerside
Residents Association (SSRA) is greatly appreciated. The SSRA is committed to cultivating a thriving
community and managing our shared resources for the collective benefit of all residents.

It is my pleasure as the General Manager of the SSRA to share important updates on our community
financial health, strategic direction, and 2025 annual fees. At the SSRA, we are dedicated to maintaining
Lake Summerside’s vibrancy and ensuring transparency in our actions. This message provides an
overview of our shared goals and the steps we are taking to enhance the quality of life for all residents.

Financial Update: 2024–2025

The SSRA takes pride in maintaining and improving Lake Summersides cherished amenities, including
the lake, parks, pathways, and the Beach Club. Despite financial challenges, we remain steadfast in our
commitment to sustainability and have prioritized key investments:

  • Lake Maintenance: Ongoing efforts to ensure water quality and usability for all residents.
  • Security Enhancements: Upgrades to cameras and access systems to enhance safety.
  • Beautification Projects: Pathway repairs, landscaping, and revitalization of parks.
  • Facility Modernization: Renovations to improve community spaces and functionality. To support these efforts and meet rising costs, the SSRA Board has approved a modest 2.1% fee adjustment for 2025, aligned with the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

2025 Annual Fees (Taxes Included) and Differences from 2024:

  • Lake Shore: $1,087.22 difference from 2024 ($22.36)
  • Lake Access: $634.25 difference from 2024 ($13.04)
  • Standard: $453.02 difference from 2024 ($9.69)

This adjustment ensures continued access to high-quality amenities and services while remaining
fiscally responsible. Your annual fees are due by January 1, 2025, with a grace period until January
31, 2025
, before interest is applied. Outstanding accounts will be referred for collection on April 1,
2025.

Methods of Payment
1. New INTERACT E-TRANSFER.
Email payment to feepayments@lakesummerside.ca. Residents Must include their full name and property address in the Memo.
2. CASH, CHEQUE, DEBIT, and CREDIT CARD –
9:00 am-5:00 pm Monday to Friday; or Gatehouse until close of business each day.
3. CHEQUE –
Mailed to the address listed below. Please make your cheque payable to the Summerside Residents Association; OR

ONLINE www.lakesummerside.ca
(Click on ‘Pay Your Fees’). Please note there is a 3% transaction fee to use the online payment system.

Call in your payment to 780.784.1429. Please check your invoice for a unique access code
Please note, online and telepay payments are only available until January 31, 2025, at which time, payments must be made per above.


SSRA Debt and Financial Stewardship

The SSRA continues to responsibly manage the mortgage debt inherited from the original developer,
Brookfield, which funded the lake and Beach Club construction. As of today, the remaining balance is
$1,452,230.43, with repayment scheduled for completion by 2032. Surplus funds are allocated to debt
reduction, lowering interest costs and ensuring funds are available for future projects.

Strategic Plan: 2024–2027

The SSRA has outlined a strategic vision to make Lake Summerside Edmonton’s most vibrant and
sustainable community. Key priorities include:

  • Enhanced Programming: Expanding events and activities to foster stronger community connections.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Developing a long-term lake management plan to preserve our natural environment.
  • Modernization of Amenities: Funding lifecycle improvements to shared spaces and facilities.
  • Improved Governance: Strengthening transparency and decision-making processes to better serve residents.

These efforts are designed to meet the evolving needs of our community while maintaining its beauty
and functionality.

Access to Financial Information

To ensure transparency, the SSRA’s audited financial statements for 2024 will be available in early 2025
at www.lakesummerside.ca under the Membership Information section.

unique amenities, including the Beach Club, lake, parks, and trails. These resources contribute to the
