Catch & Release in Effect until July 8, 2025

Hi Summerside!

We’ve replenished Lake Summerside with some new gilled friends to help support our ecosystem! A limited number of Rainbow Trout, Tiger Trout, have been added to the lake.

With this recent stocking, our catch and release policy (excluding perch) is now in effect until July 8, 2025. Let’s give the fish time to settle in and grow!

Please remember:

• Tiger Trout are always catch and release. These hybrids of Brook and Brown Trout stand out with their vibrant colours and unique markings. Known for their aggressive nature, they may also help reduce the invasive perch population.
• Fishing is only permitted at the two designated areas: the fishing dock and the far cove near the beach volleyball courts.
• The Fishing Agreement and Acknowledgement Form must be signed annually and before fishing. It is now available electronically at www.lakesummerside.ca > Reservations. You can also access the form via QR codes at check-in.
