Red Flag Status & Water Treatment Effective May 30, 2024

Dear Residents,

We wanted to inform you that,  out of an abundance of caution, the SSRA will be temporarily prohibiting access to the lake water due to a minor contamination issue, likely caused by the high number of geese frequenting the lake at night. This decision is made with your safety and enjoyment in mind.

Additionally, a significant algae bloom has occurred this week. We are diligently working to collect as much of it as possible, systematically addressing each cove. Under the guidance of our contracted professional biologists, Aquality Environmental will evaluate the lake situation and take the necessary steps to address it. They will arrive next week to assist with the removal of algae and perform a water treatment.

Due to these matters, we are changing our flags to RED🚩 until further notice.

As indicated in the information about our flag system, which can be found on our website, red flags mean the following: Known increased risk of using the lake. Lake access is PROHIBITED for ALL USERS.

Due to recent rain, we have been unable to cut the grass in every area, and you may notice that it is a bit high in some places. Rest assured, our maintenance staff is on top of this, and over the next few days, you will see them addressing these concerns.

While we understand that these issues may be inconvenient, we want to reassure you that we are managing the situation carefully and diligently. We will update you regularly as we progress towards a resolution.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact our office.
